Texas Aspires believes that “every child, regardless or race, ethnicity or zip code, deserves a quality education.” Amen. We couldn’t wait to get started on a project so connected to our community and challenged ourselves to create something that would do justice to their mission.
The biggest challenge was taking policy information and educational resources and packaging them in a way that felt immediately engaging. Rather than relying too much on photography, we wanted the emphasis to be on the message itself.
We reinforce key headlines with bold background colors and simple patterns. There’s an intentional juxtaposition between the seriousness of the subject matter and the playfulness of the visuals.
The primary audience of the site is adults, but the blocky sections and simple animations harken back to the simple pleasures of childhood. Last but not least, the lack of visual clutter emphasizes the key call to actions on the site. Our success is measured by the continued growth of their program.
