The Glide Design team has really pulled their efforts together for this project. We were all challenged from brainstorming ideas to design to implementation to editing. As a result of our countless late nights, we have been proud and honored to launch TICO* Shave Oil’s new website www.ticoshaving.com, which has already won a web award!

TICO* Shave Oil was the idea of a man who lived alone in the jungle of Costa Rica, away from civilization and daily comforts. Okay, it wasn’t quite that dramatic, but Rayner Smith and his family did move to Costa Rica, for a one-year family sabbatical, where the idea for TICO* Shave Oil was birthed. Rayner contacted his long-time friend Travis McAshan, owner of GLIDE Design, asking him to try his new product. TICO* Shave Oil is an organic alternative for the shaving industry’s mainstream foams and gels, which are jam packed with harmful chemical concoctions. TICO* is a 4-in-1 solution- pre-shave oil, shave oil, after-shave oil, and moisturizer. On a personal level, Travis was impressed with the product. On a professional level, he wanted to team up with Rayner to make TICO* Shave Oil a new household name.

From the test marketing that Travis and Rayner conducted, they found that there was in fact a strong demand for simple, environmentally-friendly shave alternatives. After two years of testing and re-testing the formula, relentless bottle and package research, establishing a brand, launching a market strategy, and designing their website, TICO* has taken the world by storm. Yes- the world!

Rayner and the team at GLIDE have been strategizing during a very intense 3-week crowd-funding campaign to help fund the first production order. It is also a powerful way to spark interest via social media outlets, and it brings communities together who want to say “YES!” to safer, organic, environmentally-friendly products.

Tomorrow at midnight, the crowd-funding campaign ends, and TICO* is already 105% funded. However, they are offering something special for anyone who backs them before September 19th at midnight.
